Penzance Food Bank

As a Church we are involved in the management of the Penzance Food Bank, which was launched in October 2011, the Shekinah Centre will also be one of the food collection points. The Food Bank aims to provide tinned and non-perishable dried goods for anyone who has been referred to the Food Bank by local authority bodies. Those who qualify are then given a voucher which entitles them to food sufficient for a 6 day period. If you would like to donate any food to the programme please feel free to bring your contributions to the Centre.

Feeding the Homeless

We are also involved in feeding the homeless on a weekly basis in partnership with Church on the Rock and others.

The Breakfast Project

In conjuction with Churches Together in Penzance, we also provide food for the Breakfast Project for the homeless. If you would like to donate to that please ring the Church office on 01736 369616.

Mission Partnership into the Democratic Republic of Congo

Working in partnership with Hatfield Christian Church, Pretoria, South Africa, we have the exciting opportunity of being involved in short-term mission projects, as well as being able to give finance into the projects being undertaken in the DRC; these include both Nursery and Primary Schools, which have to be built and resourced; therefore people with all kinds of skills, from electricians and builders, to mechanics and teachers, get to invest into these mission partnerships.

The following are a selection of the groups we have functioning in our church programme:

  • Encounter Meetings

Provide an opportunity to encounter God through praise, worship, prayer and the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

    Life Groups

Designed to encourage and empower one another in our life of faith in Christ.

    Music Nights

    Weekly rehearsal for the musicians

  • Bible School

    Bible teaching & discussion.

  • Children & Youth

We run a weekly Sunday School and a Baby & Toddler group, both with lots of activities; the Youth have their own time together, this may include films, discussions & trips out to various Christian events.

  • Social Events

We run a varied programme of social events including beach barbecues, picnics, DVD nights, fishing trips, Christmas dances, bowling & lots more!
